Managing a Team

In Termius, the Teams feature enhances collaboration, allowing multiple users to share, manage, and access secure SSH, SFTP, and other connections in a centralized environment. With this feature, teams can efficiently set up shared resources and streamline access to servers and snippets within defined permissions.

Team permissions:

  • Editors: Can create, update, and remove data.

  • Viewers: Can only connect and use snippets.

Setting Up a Team

To start, the team owner creates a team and invites members via the team management dashboard. Members receive email invitations to join, ensuring only verified users have access.

Go to the Vaults section in Settings. Select the vault you wish to modify, and then assign the appropriate role to the team members within that vault.

Transfer Ownership

Ownership transfer is a seamless process. A team can access the information through the process with no interruption. However, the complete ownership transfer requires actions from current and new owners.

As a current owner:
  1. Open the team management dashboard.

  2. Next to the team member's email, in the Role field, choose "Owner."

  3. Enter your encryption password to confirm the action.

As a new owner:
  1. Open the team management dashboard.

  2. Enter your encryption password to complete the transfer.

  3. Update your payment method if necessary.

Using Team Vaults

Within the shared workspace, Team Vaults enable organized and structured storage of connection settings, keys, and other essential data. Vault permissions allow team members access to sensitive information without compromising security. All shared items, including hosts, groups, and keys, are stored and categorized within the team vault, making it easy for members to connect seamlessly.

Managing Access and Security

For security, team vaults can implement different credential modes. Shared credentials for common access or personal credentials for user-specific access. This flexibility supports both collaborative work and security needs. Owners and viewers can update access settings and ensure only approved team members have access to specific vaults or credentials.
