Secure Credentials Sharing

Sharing infrastructure credentials within a team can quickly become complex, especially as the number of credentials increases. As infrastructure evolves or team members leave, credentials must be updated regularly. The real challenge lies in ensuring that every team member has access to the most up-to-date credentials, without compromising security.
Traditional methods for sharing credentials within a team often fall short in terms of security and convenience. Many teams resort to unencrypted channels, such as email or chat, to share passwords and keys, making them vulnerable to compromise. While password managers provide a more secure solution, they still require users to manually copy and paste credentials, which can disrupt workflows and add friction.
Secure Credentials Sharing with Termius

Termius addresses these challenges by introducing Vaults, a secure solution for syncing and sharing credentials across teams. Vaults are end-to-end encrypted cloud storage designed to securely store SSH keys, passwords, and other sensitive information. With Vaults, team members can securely access the credentials they need, whenever they need them, from any device.
For engineers familiar with traditional tools like PuTTY, Termius shifts the model of SSH key storage from local files to secure cloud-based management, offering both the security you expect and the convenience of modern workflows. Whether importing existing keys, generating new ones, or exploring advanced authentication methods like hardware or biometric keys, Termius simplifies secure key management, helping users move beyond the traditional mental model of SSH keys as local files to a more flexible, cloud-based approach.
How to share credentials?
To share the credentials securely, follow these steps:
Make sure you have a vault shared with your team. If you don't have one, create it.
Right-click on a host to
Move
your host to that vault.Termius will prompt you to select where to store your credentials. Choose one of the vaults your teammates have access to.
If the hosts already exist in a vault that your teammates can access, you can share credentials at the host level:
Edit
your host.Under Credentials from setting,
choose
one of the vaults your teammates have access to.
By default, when you create a new host, its credentials are stored in the Personal vault.
