Move or Copy Items Between Vaults

Move or copy data between vaults

Vaults in Termius enable your team to manage infrastructure together. Everything you add to a vault is instantly available for the team members with access to this vault. When you change host details, they are instantly updated for everyone. It guarantees that everyone from your team can connect when you can.

Before beginning: Ensure you define the vault structure that would work best for your team configuration and create vaults accordingly.

Add data to a vault

  1. When adding a new item to Termius, select a vault where you want the entity to be saved.

  2. Choose where you want to store credentials:

    • Personal vault — the host will be moved to a vault without credentials. Each member will need to use their own set of credentials saved in their Personal vault.

    • Target vault — credentials will be moved along with the host. Everyone will connect using the same shared credentials. Once the entity is saved to this vault, it is instantly accessible by all team members with access.

Move data between vaults

  1. Select entities you want to move between vaults.

  2. In a context menu, choose "Move to" and select the vault to which the data will be moved.

  3. Choose where you want to store credentials:

    1. Personal vault — the host will be moved to a vault without credentials. Each member will need to use their own set of credentials saved in their Personal vault.

    2. Target vault — credentials will be moved along with the host. Everyone will connect using the same shared credentials.

  4. Choose what you want to do with linked entities.

For data consistency, all linked entities, such as port forwarding rules and startup snippets must be saved in the save vault. When moving data across vaults, Termius will ask you if you want to move or detach linked entities.
